Selecting columns for Import

Back to index page

It is possible to import data from any kind of tables and views. However, structures can only be imported from (and structure search can only be performed on) JChem Base or JChem Cartridge tables and views.

       Form.ImportfromDatabase.SelectColumns

Note: You can import for example SMILES strings or IUPAC names from any table, and perform calculations on them. MOL files are not supported due to Excel cell size limitations.

If a column in the table has a JChem Cartridge domain index, the column has an (Indexed) postfix after it.

If a table is a JChem Base table, and it also has a Cartridge domain index, the search method can be selected in Search Options. It is also possible to select the target column with the Cartridge search, if more than one structure column contains an index in the table.

Note:  JChem Base tables could be created using JChem Manager, or Instant JChem.

Checking the checkbox next to the column in the tree selects the column for import. Only one database or table can be selected for import and only the columns of the selected table can be selected for the import.

1.Check the node of the database.
2.Check the node of the table to import
3.Check the columns you want to import.

If CD_STRUCTURE column is not selected, then no structures will be displayed on the sheet.

Note: Only the column named CD_STRUCTURE is considered as Structure column.

In case of views, it is not possible to recognize the indexed columns from schema, therefore all possible search methods are displayed. You have to select manually both the search method and the column with structure.
