Structure Filter
Back to index pageIt is possible to filter structures on the active worksheet. You can search for structures by a query structure and specified search options. Filtering options will be saved with the workbook. It is possible to apply more structure filtering right after each other to narrow step by step the hit list.
| 1. | Select a worksheet, which contains structures. |

| 2. | Click on the Filter ribbon button (in case of Office 2007 and 2010) or select the Structure Filter JChem menu item (in case of Office 2003) to open the Filter form. |

| 3. | Specify the query structure by: |
| a) | Dragging the file containing the query structure over the picture box. |
| b) | Double-clicking the picture box and drawing the structure for the query. |
| c) | Paste a structure from the clipboard by using the Paste right-click menu item over the picture box. |

| 4. | Specify general and chemistry search options. |
| 5. | Specify hit coloring to mark the query structure in the hits. |
| 6. | Specify hit alignment mode (Rotate or Partial Clean). The hit alignment is turned off by default. |

| 7. | Select structure column to filter on, if there are more structure columns on the worksheet. |
| 8. | Click on the OK button to run the search process. The Filter form can be closed by Cancel button without any changes on the worksheet. |
| 9. | Only those structures remain on the worksheet which fulfill the specified criteria. The other rows are hidden from the worksheet. The specified query structure is kept on the Filter form until the current filtering is not cleared so it is possible to reopen the Filter form and modify the query structure without drawing it from scratch. |
| 10. | The hit coloring can be removed by using the Remove Hit Coloring function. The Remove Hit Coloring button can be found in the Ribbon next to the Filter button. |

| 11. | Click on the Clear Structure Filter button to display the hidden rows with structures again. |

| 12. | The previously hidden rows are displayed again and the Filter button is enabled. |
