Download and Install
In order to install JChem for SharePoint, you have to complete the following steps on each server joined in the Farm:
- Download the installation file from the ChemAxon SharePoint Publishing Site (http://demo.sharepoint.chemaxon.com/publish).
The installation file contains four important packages:
- JChem for SharePoint , which consists of custom fields, webparts and other features especially designed to integrate chemical functionality into existing SharePoint applications.
- JChem Plugin for SharePoint based on JChem.NET API. Other calculation plugins based on different chemical calculation engines can be developed based on a API documented in the Developer's Guide.
- JChem.NET API v5.5.0.1569
- JChem WS Plugin. Is a plugin which works with generic Web Services. It allows you to use your own custom Web Service for chemical calculation operations.
- Install the .msi file on all SharePoint servers within the Farm. You can leave the default selected options or you can customize to match you organizational needs.
- To complete the installation you have two options: run SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard or manually install the service, service proxy and service instance by running PowerShell commands. NOTE: The installer will reset IIS (Internet Information Services) in order to complete installation (the reason for this is that sometimes JChem for SharePoint Central Administration files are not deployed by SharePoint configuration wizard which can result in some errors with the JChem for SharePoint specific configuration pages).
