The JChem Rich Text Editor Extension for Blog extends SharePoint Blog sites and allows users to add content with Structures. The Blog site also allows comments to be added to each post and like a post each comment can add structures to their content.

 

 

How to create a blog site with structures

 

Step 1: Create a new blog site with a specified title and URL name.

Step 2: Click on the More Options button to make available all options.

Step 3: Select the following options:

• Display this site on the Quick Launch of the parent site: Yes
• Use the top link bar from the parent site: Yes

You can keep the default settings of other properties but of course you are allowed to modify them as well.

 

Step 4: Save the new blog site.

The new site is created.

 

How to create a post item with structures

 

Step 8: Create a new post on your new blog site.

Step 9: Enter a title for the new post item.

Step 10: Enter a body text for the new post item.

Step 11: Position the cursor somewhere in the Body field of the New Item page and click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button.

 

 

The integrated structure editor (Marvin Applet) is started.

 

Step 12: Draw a structure and close the structure editor window by OK button.

The specified structure is displayed in the Body text field.

 

 

 

 

Step 13: Specify a category (e.g.: Category 1) for the new post item.

Step 14: Publish the new post item by Publish button.

The new post item with the specified structure is displayed on your blog site.

 

 

 

 

How to modify an existing post item with structures

 

Step 15: Select the Manage Posts action.

Step 16: Open the above created post item for edition.

Step 17: Position the cursor somewhere in the Body field and click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button.

 

 

The integrated structure editor (Marvin Applet) is started.

Step 18: Draw a second structure and close the structure editor window by OK button. The specified structure is displayed in the Body text field. Currently there are two structures in the Body text field.

Step 19: Select the first structure in the Body text field.

Step 20: Click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button. The integrated structure editor is opened with the selected structure.

Step 21: Modify the structure and close the structure editor window by OK button.The modified structure is displayed in the Body text field.

 

 

Step 22: Publish the modifications of the post item.

The updated post item with the modified structure and with the newly added structure is displayed on your blog site.
