Structure Filter Web Part

The Structure Filter Webpart allows users to filter lists using structure queries. The queries can be edited with the Marvin Applet and can use advanced query features of JChem like: Superstructures, Substructures or Full structures (exact matches) of list structures.

 

 

How to use the JChem Structure Filter function on SharePoint lists

 

 

Add the JChem Structure Filter web part to a list

 

Step 1: Select an existing custom list which has at least a JChem structure column and which contains some items with structures.

Step 2: Activate the Edit mode by selecting the Edit Page action. The Add a Web Part button is displayed at the top of the page.

Step 3: Select the JChem Structure Filter web part (JChem category) and click on the Add button.

The Structure Filter web part is displayed above the list.

Step 4: Leave the Edit mode.

Apply structure filtering on a list

 

Step 1: Select the name of the current custom list from the Select List drop-down list.

Step 2: Select the name of the JChem Structure column from the "Select a molecule field" drop-down list.

Step 3: Select the substructure search type from the Search Type drop-down list. (You can select any other available search type.)

Step 4: Click on the Query Molecule icon next to the Search Type field.The structure editor (Marvin Applet) is started.

Step 5: Draw a query structure and click on the OK button at the bottom of the structure editor window.

All of ChemAxon’s advanced chemistry search options are available on the Advanced Options tab, such as stereochemical features and tautomer consideration.

The specified query structure is displayed next to the Search Type field.

Step 6: Click on the Apply Filter button.

The non-hit rows are hidden from the custom list. Only the rows can be seen in the list where the chemical structure fits the search criterion.

Modify the search criterion - query structure

 

Step 1: Click on the query molecule next to the Search Type field. The structure editor is started with the current query molecule.

Step 2: Modify the query structure and click on the OK button at the bottom of the structure editor form.

The modified query molecule is displayed next to the Search Type field.

Step 3: Click on the Apply Filter button.

The new structure filtering is applied. Only the rows can be seen in the list where the chemical structure fits the modified search criterion. The non-hit rows are hidden from the list.

Clear structure filtering

 

Step 1: Click on the Clear Filter button.All rows are displayed again in the list.
