The The JChem Rich Text Editor Extension for Wiki extends SharePoint default Wiki functionality and allows users to create Wiki pages with structures.

 

 

How to create a Wiki page library with structures

 

Step 1: Create a new Wiki page library with a specified name.

Step 2: Select the following option:

  • Display this document library on the Quick Launch: Yes

 

Step 3: Save the Wiki page library.The new Wiki page library is created and its home page is on the screen.

Step 4: Open the Site Features page by selecting "Site Settings|Site Actions|Manage Site Features" action.

Step 5: Activate the ChemAxon RichTextEditor Extension feature (it enables molecule editing on native SharePoint multiple text line fields).

Step 6: Go back to the home page of the above created Wiki page library.

Step 7: Activate the edit mode to edit the home page (by clicking on the Edit button).

Step 8: Position the cursor somewhere in the home page content and click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button.

The integrated structure editor (Marvin Applet) is started.

 

Step 9: Draw a structure and close the structure editor window by OK button. The specified structure is displayed in the home page content.

Step 10: Save the modification and leave the edit mode. The specified structure is displayed on the home page of the Wiki page library.

How to modify the home page of a Wiki page library with structures

 

Step 11: Open the home page of the above created Wiki page library.

Step 12: Activate the edit mode to edit the home page (by clicking on the Edit button).

Step 13: Select the structure in the home page content.

Step 14: Click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button.

The integrated structure editor is opened with the selected structure.

 

Step 15: Modify the structure and close the structure editor window by OK button. The modified structure is displayed in the home page content.

Step 16: Save the modification and leave the edit mode. The modified structure is displayed on the home page of the Wiki page library.

How to add a new Wiki page with structures to a Wiki page library

 

Step 17: Activate the All Pages view.

Step 18: Add a new Wiki page to the library.

Step 19: Specify a name for the new page.

Step 20: Enter text as Wiki page content.

Step 21: Position the cursor somewhere in the page content and click on the: "Editing Tools|Insert|Insert Molecule" toolbar button. The integrated structure editor (Marvin Applet) is started.

Step 22: Draw a structure and close the structure editor window by OK button. The specified structure is displayed in the page content.

Step 23: Save and close the new Wiki page. The new Wiki page is created and page content with the structure is on the screen.

It is possible to reopen the above created Wiki page for edition and modify the existing structure or add new structures to the page. You can add more Wiki pages with structures to the Wiki page library.
