Validate Local Server Using jcsadm.exe

In one server or multi server Farm environment there is a possibility to check the individual servers if they are setup correctly to run JChem For SharePoint Serach. First thing what the administrator needs to do is to go through the Server deployment steps. When the service application is created run the following in a command line:

 

jcsadm.exe -o validate

 

Note:  jcsadm.exe -o validate will only validate the current local server on which the command is executed! In case of more servers in the farm, administrator can run the command on every server instance to check the prerequisites there.

 

In one server environment the administrator should see something like this:

 

validation_local_server_state_ok

 

When creating a service application in the Central Administration of SharePoint, every prerequisites will be validated if there is only one server in the farm. If the farm contains more than one server, not every prerequisites are validated at the create time. For more information read Server deployment steps.

In multi server farm, most likely the following screen will appear:

 

validation_local_server_states
