Release notes for 2.1.x releases

• October 4th 1999 Marvin 2.1.5. Improved stability on all MSWINDOWS platforms (also on NT): better workaround for Netscape's freezing bug. Editability of molecules in MarvinView can be controlled by a new applet parameter. MarvinView windows are scrollable in Swing.
  Upgrading is strongly recommended for all users.
• September 27th 1999 Marvin 2.1.4. Workaround for a bug in Netscape 4.5-4.6/MSWindows 98 that causes the browser to freeze when the user closes a window containing an applet. Swing version: open and save when running in the AppletViewer.
• September 23rd 1999 Marvin 2.1.3. 5k size reduction: marvin.jar is currently only 75.2k. In the Swing version: printing in the AppletViewer; fix for a deadlock problem.
• September 16th 1999 Marvin 2.1.2: Smallest ring size (SMARTS r) checking fixed.
• September 14th 1999 Marvin 2.1.1: Minor improvements in MarvinView
  • Number of cells can be queried.
  • The anchor parameter also sets label alignment.
  • When changing a label (data field), the layout is automatically updated.
  • New example in the Guide: editable table.
• September 2nd 1999 Marvin 2.1. Improved MarvinView/MarvinSketch integration
  • MarvinSketch can be launched directly from MarvinView.
    It simplifies editing molecules in a database in many cases.
  • Molecules can be selected with mouse clicks in MarvinView tables.
  • CML export (experimental).
  • Workaround for bugs in Netscape that resulted the freezing of the browser in some cases.
