Deploying Global Informatics on the cloud
GSK has a long-standing commitment to research and development into diseases of the developing world (DDW) such as malaria and TB. The majority of GSK’s drug discovery activities in DDW take place at GSK’s Tres Cantos Medicines Development Campus in Spain. GSK has adopted an open innovation strategy and aims to share expertise and resources with scientists around the world through the Tres Cantos Open Lab. The visiting scientists who lead the Open Lab projects need access to project data wherever they are, either at the Tres Cantos Campus or back in their home institution. GSK has been working with ChemAxon on a pilot to make data from one of the Open Lab projects accessible via ChemAxon’s Instant JChem data management and analysis tool, all hosted on the cloud with no local installation. This talk will outline and demonstrate how Open Lab research scientists will access, share and manipulate project data.
